Islip’s Wing Elementary School Recognized
By The National PTA

On February 20, 2004 Islip’s Wing Elementary school received recognition from the National PTA on parent involvement and received the National PTA Parent Involvement School of Excellence Certification. This parent involvement certification process measures parent involvement at the district, school and community level. Wing parents pride themselves on being an integral part of their children’s education. This recognition is for all the groups in our school community that work together with the same goals in mind, being involved and having a positive impact on our children’s education. Wing Elementary school is currently 1 of only 15 schools in New York State and 400 in the country to receive this recognition.

The Wing PTA wishes to thank all the parents at Wing for being involved and taking an active role in their child’s education. A special thank you goes to principal, Mrs. Diane Druckman, who has worked for the last 10 years with the many groups at Wing to create the wonderful learning environment that exists today. The Wing PTA would also like to extend a special thanks to the teachers and staff for their dedication to our children’s education and ongoing support of our PTA.
